Two smart outdoor fitness facilities have recently been officially put into service in Longhua District, one in the Mali Community, Guanhu Subdistrict and one in the Shenzhen North Railway Station Central Park.

Compared to traditional facilities, the smart fitness facilities are upgraded with new functions and have utilized new technologies such as human movement science and artificial intelligence. While using the facilities, citizens can also get access to online coaching sessions and track their personal fitness data such as exercise time, movement speed and calories consumed.

Each smart outdoor fitness facility, which includes 16 pieces of equipment, covers an area of over 350 square meters. By using both solar and human self-powered energy, the facilities are energy-saving and environmentally friendly.

It is estimated that a total of 22 smart outdoor fitness facilities will be put into service in Longhua District by 2025. According to the Longhua District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, more smart fitness facilities will be offered in public spaces including parks and open areas to better meet people’s growing demand for fitness.
